(VIDEO) Danilović and Šaranović detained for up to 72 hours

Branko Danilović, a public procurement officer at the Real Estate Directorate, and former head of this institution Blažo Šaranović have been ordered into custody for up to 72 hours following questioning at the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT).

Danilović and Šaranović were arrested yesterday, together with Duško Radunović, owner of the company “Stan projekt,” in an operation carried out by the SSPO.

- By order of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, the Special Police Department is conducting urgent evidentiary actions against several individuals in Podgorica and Budva, on the grounds of reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position. After the completion of the evidentiary actions being undertaken and the questioning of the detained persons in the capacity of suspects, the Special State Prosecutor’s Office will inform the public about the results and its decision regarding the further course of the proceedings - the SSPO said in a statement issued yesterday.

Šaranović is a member of the Main Board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS). In the early 1990s, he served as head of the Commercial Department within the Administration for Joint Affairs of State Bodies, and in 2005 he worked as Assistant Director of that Administration.

He began managing the Property Administration in 2012 and was dismissed in early January 2021. During that period, he also headed the football club Iskra from Danilovgrad.
