Police Directorate: 13 individuals sanctioned for blocking traffic with their vehicles during an unreported gathering in Donja Gorica

Officers of the Podgorica Security Department sanctioned 13 individuals for blocking traffic with their vehicles during an unreported gathering in the Donja Gorica neighborhood, the Police Directorate announced.

As stated in the announcement yesterday, police officers undertook legally prescribed measures and actions within their jurisdiction in response to unreported gatherings in the territory of the Capital City and the Municipality of Zeta.

- While respecting citizens’ right to peaceful assembly, we remind organizers and participants that in exercising their rights they may not restrict or endanger the rights of other citizens - the statement emphasized.

They also reminded that, for security reasons, public gatherings must be reported, and that the Police Directorate will assess each request individually and take appropriate measures and actions depending on the situation on the ground.

- We once again emphasize the importance of cooperation with the police and a partnership-based approach, so that all citizens can safely use public roads and that peaceful gatherings can be carried out without risks to public safety and the rights of others - the Police Directorate stated.
