Former Director of Montenegro’s Police Nikola Terzić was denied entry into Serbia

Former Director of the Montenegrin Police Directorate Nikola Terzić was denied entry into Serbia last night on grounds of national security and the protection of citizens of the Republic of Serbia, he confirmed to Portal ETV.
According to Terzić, the decision banning his entry into Serbia, issued at the request of Serbia’s Security Information Agency, was handed to him after a rather lengthy wait at the Špiljani border crossing. He stated that officials informed him in a professional manner that the decision had been made for reasons of national security and the protection of Serbian citizens.
The reason for his trip to the neighbouring country was a scheduled final examination at a university. Terzić believes the decision will also negatively affect students, as some had arrived from other cities a day earlier for assessments that were scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Speaking to our portal, Terzić said that, as someone who has worked in the security sector for 20 years, he was disappointed by the decision.
During the government of Dritan Abazović, he served as Acting Director of the Police Directorate.
It should be recalled that yesterday 87 men, who arrived at Tivat Airport in the morning on a charter flight operated by Serbia’s national airline Air Serbia, were returned to Belgrade due to concerns related to national security.
Montenegrin security services stated that the group was expelled because they posed a threat to national security. Authorities also said that the individuals had attended numerous public gatherings classified as high-security-risk events, and that some of them had previous records related to criminal offences and misdemeanours involving elements of violence. The group that arrived on the charter flight to Tivat reportedly refused to answer police questions regarding the purpose of their visit to Montenegro.
