Rijeka Crnojevića: Serbian Orthodox Church priest detained over sexual harassment of minors

A criminal complaint has been filed against a Serbian Orthodox Church priest B. Ć., born in Šavnik and residing in Rijeka Crnojevića, on suspicion of sexually harassing his minor children. Following this, and on the order of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Cetinje, he was deprived of liberty, and after questioning he was remanded in custody for up to 72 hours.
The complaint against him was submitted to the Cetinje Basic State Prosecutor’s Office by his former wife, N. K.
Among the evidence is an audio recording of a conversation with the children
In the records of the Cetinje Basic State Prosecutor’s Office and in a submission by the prosecutor to the Cetinje Center for Social Work, which Portal Analitika had access to, N. K. claims that B. Ć. sexually harassed their two minor children.
Along with details, which due to the sensitivity of the case they did not publish, she also submitted an audio recording of a conversation with the children, as well as a drawing made by one of them.
The state prosecutor requested that the Center for Social Work undertake “measures and actions within its jurisdiction, including the possible submission of a request to restrict or deprive B. Ć. of parental rights”.
In her complaint to the Cetinje Basic State Prosecutor’s Office, N. K. also stated that she was married to B. Ć. until 2019, when she claims she “fled with the children due to psychological and physical violence he committed against her”.
She further stated that in 2020 she stayed at a Safe Women’s House together with the children.
N. K. submitted the complaint to the Cetinje Basic State Prosecutor’s Office the day before yesterday, and on the same day the state prosecutor contacted the Center for Social Work.
Suspect remanded in custody for up to 72 hours
The Cetinje Basic State Prosecutor’s Office announced that B. Ć. was ordered into custody for up to 72 hours after being questioned yesterday.
- On December 23rd of 2025, by order of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Cetinje, the Police Directorate - Cetinje Security Branch deprived the suspect B. Ć. from Cetinje of liberty on suspicion of the criminal offense of sexual harassment. After questioning the suspect on December 24th of 2025, this prosecutor’s office issued a decision ordering his detention for a period of up to 72 hours - they stated.
