There is no logic whatsoever in the claim that former Assistant Director of the Police Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime Zoran Lazović was the head of a criminal organization. The working conditions while he was at the head of the Sector were excellent, we only had support, and he never held us back. I am a graduate officer and I am proud of that period. Lazović never asked us to privilege anyone, and the dynamics of our work were such that we would sometimes complete cases first and only then inform our superiors - said Boris Anđušić at the High Court, who worked in the Police Directorate until 2021.

Anđušić gave this response to a question from Lazović while testifying in proceedings initiated by the Special State Prosecutor’s Office against the former Assistant Director of the Police Directorate, retired Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, and suspended prosecutor Saša Čađenović. Prosecutor Miloš Šoškić accuses them of subordinating their official positions to the Kavač criminal clan, which they have categorically denied in their defenses.

Anđušić was explicit that neither Lazović, nor Čađenović, nor Katnić ever asked for anyone to be privileged or excluded from criminal charges.

He explained that he had worked on several cases with prosecutor Čađenović.

- I went to EUROPOL with prosecutor Čađenović and colleague Vladimir Rakonjac. We went there after the fall of Sky (Sky ECC). They requested our data, checked our photos, and verified us through the entire Sky material. The point of those checks was to determine whether we appeared in the Sky materials. Once it was established that we did not, we were allowed to conduct searches in the databases - the witness said.

He added that after that they had access to all communications and were granted access to all information.

While at EUROPOL, he searched unsolved murders and, as he stated, devoted the most attention to the killing of Petar Muhadinović in Cetinje.

According to Anđušić, that case was solved with the help of Sky material, and the acting prosecutor was Čađenović.

For the murder of Muhadinović, as he said, members of the Škaljari clan were responsible.

Anđušić emphasized that requests were sent to EUROPOL for all members of both the Škaljari and Kavač clans, as well as for persons connected to them.

- We did not exclude anyone - said Anđušić.

He added that the murder of Nikola Stanišić was investigated exclusively on the basis of Sky material.

He also added that for the murder of Stanišić, high-ranking members of the Kavač clan were prosecuted, including Slobodan Kašćelan, Vladimir Vučković, Zoran Kažić, Miloš Radonjić...

He explained that the material was fragmented, consisting of excerpts from communications, and that it was not a complete dataset.

Responding to a question from Čađenović, he said that Kašćelan was considered one of the leaders of the Kavač clan, and that, according to his operational information, Vladimir Vučković „was one of the most important enforcers for the Kavač clan“.

In that case as well, he said, the acting prosecutor was Čađenović.

- I can also say that everything we received from our international partners - every single letter - was included in the criminal reports, including the PINs that were identified - said Anđušić.

After the murder of Stanišić, they worked on the case of the murders of Damir Hodžić and Adis Spahić, as well as on solving the killing of Milo Radulović.

The witness also said that by reviewing Sky material, they obtained information that an attack had been planned against Čađenović’s brother, prosecutor Čađenović, then Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, and judge Biljana Uskoković.

In addition to Anđušić, police officer Stefan Racković also testified today.

He too was explicit that prosecutor Čađenović was professional and never asked for anyone to be protected.

The leadership of the Kavač clan, as he explained, was prosecuted for the murder of Milo Radulović.

Charges were filed against one of the leaders, Radoje Zvicer, Milan Vujotić, Radoje Živković... As he explained, individuals from that criminal organization were also prosecuted for the murders of Hodžić and Spahić. The list of suspects also included Serbian nationals, among them Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković.

- I repeat that prosecutor Čađenović did not ask for anyone to be excluded from criminal charges - said witness Racković.

The trial will continue on April 27. The proceedings are being led by Judge Veljko Radovanović.
