Architect Petrović: I never discussed furnishing the apartment in Perla with Lazović, Ivanović told me it belonged to Bemax

Belgrade-based architect Aleksandar Petrović, who testified via video link before the High Court as a witness, stated that he furnished five apartments in the Perla building in Budva, which were owned by the company Bemax, and that he never communicated with former senior police official Zoran Lazović regarding the furnishing of those apartments.
Petrović testified via video link at the trial of former Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, former senior police official Zoran Lazović and suspended prosecutor Saša Čađenović.
Petrović was unequivocal in stating that Vlado Ivanović, owner of Master Engineering, had hired him to furnish five apartments on behalf of Bemax.
As he explained, he had maintained a long-standing business relationship with Ivanović and they were also friends.
- Those apartments were nearly completed; only the furniture, lighting, kitchen, and similar finishing elements were missing - Petrović said.
He reiterated that he had never communicated with Lazović about the apartment or any business matter.
- I have seen Lazović only three or four times in my life. I know him only to the extent of exchanging greetings - the architect testified.
He added that he had once encountered Lazović at a lunch gathering where Lazović was in the company of Ranko Ubović, but that they did not interact.
Responding to a question from one of Lazović’s defense attorneys, Zoran Piperović, Petrović stated that he had never spoken with Zoran Lazović’s wife or with any member of the Lazović family.
Architect Petrović was adamant that he did not know any member of the Lazović family.
- I never discussed any business matter with Lazović, let alone the apartments - the architect said.
