Members of the Parliament of Montenegro have adopted today’s agenda, which included a second vote on the candidacy of Predrag Krstonijević for judge of the Constitutional Court. However, Speaker of Parliament Andrija Mandić said that the vote on this proposal would be held at a later date.

- You will be informed in a timely manner about the continuation of the session. I am calling a short recess, after which we will continue with the session of the first extraordinary sitting in 2026 - Mandić stated.

The election of Krstonijević was included on the agenda of the Third Extraordinary Sitting at the request of the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović.

Milatović submitted the proposal to appoint Krstonijević as a judge of the Constitutional Court to Parliament on December 3. In the first round of voting, held on December 31, Krstonijević failed to secure the required support of MPs. At that time, he was supported by 25 out of the 45 MPs who voted, while 20 abstained.

In the second round, the election of a Constitutional Court judge requires a three-fifths majority, that is, at least 49 votes.

The Constitutional Court currently has six judges out of the seven prescribed by law.
