Spajić: All state aerial firefighting capacities deployed, thanks to our heroes

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said that all available state aerial firefighting capacities are being used to combat the major wildfires in Herceg Novi and Ulcinj, including three Air Tractor aircraft and the leased Antonov, stressing that Montenegro now has four times greater aerial firefighting capacity than last year.
He expressed his great respect and gratitude to all pilots and firefighters tirelessly battling the fires in Herceg Novi and Ulcinj.
- During these highly demanding operations, we are using our full capacity, which means that all three state-owned Air Tractor aircraft are currently deployed. These aircraft can carry a total of 9,000 litres of water, while a significant reinforcement is provided by the leased Antonov An-32P, which can carry 8,000 litres of water in a single sortie - Spajić said on X.
According to him, with 17,000 litres of water available at any given moment, Montenegro’s aerial firefighting capacity is four times greater than last year. Combined with the continuous support of helicopters operated by the Armed Forces of Montenegro, this provides greater capacity to respond to the ongoing emergencies.
- Thank you to our heroes on the ground and in the air who are protecting Montenegro - Spajić said.
