RESEARCH BY ETV: Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, his deputy Miloš Šoškić, and SSPO spokesperson Vukas Radonjić did not grant consent for access to their bank accounts and accounts in other financial institutions

Why are the bank accounts of Novović and the SSPO team a state secret?

The fact that the three leading figures of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office did not allow access to their own bank accounts points to a lack of transparency among individuals whose job, among other things, is to prosecute organized crime and abuse of office

Those who can investigate the accounts of citizens do not like anyone having insight into their own wallets. This is the message sent by the leaders of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, who have reported their income and assets to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, his deputy Miloš Šoškić, and SSPO spokesperson Vukas Radonjić did not grant consent for access to their bank accounts and accounts in other financial organizations.

Unlike this secrecy, the reported annual income of the head of the SSPO and his wife is known.

THE ŠOŠKIĆ FAMILY – OVER 200,000 EUROS INCOME

By far the wealthiest special prosecutor is Miloš Šoškić. The Deputy Chief Special Prosecutor and his wife, forensic medicine specialist Ivana Čurović Šoškić, earned 216,637 euros in the previous year.

THE RADONJIĆ FAMILY – THREE APARTMENTS

It is also interesting to examine the asset report of the SSPO spokesperson Vukas Radonjić, the person who most frequently speaks on behalf of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office.

He earned a total of 38,802 euros last year from salary, lecture fees at the Training Center for the Judiciary and State Prosecutor’s Office, and lectures at the Police Academy in Danilovgrad.

His wife Bisera Radonjić, a prosecutor at the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, reported total income of 22,348 euros from salary and rental income.

The Radonjić couple owns three apartments: two of 88 square meters each and one of 61 square meters.

KEEPING SECRETS: Novović did not grant consent for access to bank accounts

SECRETS REMAIN SECRETS

Why did the three leading figures of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office refuse to allow access to their bank accounts?

All of this remains shrouded in secrecy. It is strange that people who, by the nature of their job, investigate citizens’ bank accounts in many situations do not want the public to know about their own financial flows.

But apparently, they can get away with it. After all, who would initiate proceedings to examine the origin of assets of state officials - the Special State Prosecutor’s Office itself?
