Jovanović ironically: Clear evidence of the prosecution’s case - they found a box and three pencils at Lazović’s home

It is clear what kind of evidentiary value supports the prosecution’s claims against former senior police official Zoran Lazović when, in the report on the search of his house in Podgorica, investigators noted that they had found a box containing three pencils, attorney Stefan Jovanović said.
Speaking during the continuation of the trial before the High Court in Podgorica on June 18, Lazović’s defense lawyer emphasized that none of the items listed in the report had been included in the indictment.
- That speaks for itself. The defense is not surprised by this. Trace No. 2, as stated in the report, says that a blue box containing three pencils was found. From that alone, it is clear what kind of evidentiary value exists for what the prosecution claims regarding Zoran Lazović - Jovanović said.
Commenting on evidence related to records obtained from the Tax Administration, Jovanović stressed that the review covered seven members of the Lazović family and established that none of them owned companies, operated businesses, or engaged in commercial activities.
When correspondence from several Montenegrin banks was read into evidence, Jovanović argued that these documents likewise failed to connect Lazović to any alleged wrongdoing.
- These documents show just how broadly the prosecution conducted its investigation, considering that even members of Zoran Lazović’s family were subject to scrutiny. Yet, even through this evidence, he has not been linked to any of the allegations made by the prosecution in terms of criminal liability - Lazović’s defense attorney stated.
