At the beginning of today’s parliamentary session, Social Democrats (SD) Member of Parliament Boris Mugoša stated that yesterday they received a notice that 22 laws should be discussed over the next two and a half days and voted on Thursday - even though most of them have been in parliamentary procedure for only a few days, rather than the 15 days required by the rules of procedure.

- It is important that the parliament be transparent and that we inform the public about what is being said at the collegium. Yesterday at 1:42 p.m. we received a notification that over the next two and a half days 22 laws would be discussed and voted on Thursday, even though many of them were submitted to parliament only a few days ago and have not been in procedure for the required 15 days. I asked what this was about and was told that it was because of European integration. I said: give me that document, why were we not informed about it? Why did no one tell us earlier at the collegium that these laws must be adopted? Today, half an hour ago, we received information that eight laws must be adopted, not 22. The essence is this: what do we even need these rules of procedure for anymore? Let’s abolish them and amend the Constitution so that the Parliament no longer adopts laws, let the Government adopt them instead - Mugoša said.

Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) MP Nikola Rakočević stressed that the session could not continue.

- We must see how this will function in the future. One thing is clear: we no longer trust anything you say. The idea that laws which must remain in procedure for 15 days are placed on the agenda under an expedited procedure is something we will no longer support - Rakočević emphasized.

He requested a break so that a collegium meeting could be held. Parliament Vice Speaker Mirsad Nurković granted the request.
