Prosecutor’s Office informed of threats against Vuković, police issued an order to collect information

The Police Directorate is taking measures within its jurisdiction following threats made on social media against Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Member of Parliament Ivan Vuković, stating that he is „ripe for a trunk“ („stasao za gepek“ - a phrase which implies a threat of violence).
This was unofficially confirmed to Portal ETV.
It was also unofficially stated that an order to collect information has been issued and that the Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor’s Office has been informed of the case.
The Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to the ETV Portal that the prosecutor has been informed about the incident.
– Police Directorate officers have been instructed to undertake the necessary measures and actions prescribed by law with the aim of clarifying the decisive facts – the response from this prosecutor’s office states.
Yesterday, Vuković posted a screenshot of the disputed comment on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and called on the police to respond.
- „Worthless goods“ and „thief“ are, apparently, insults that someone involved in politics is expected to endure, especially after simply congratulating the closing of a chapter in the EU accession negotiations. „Ripe for a trunk“ - I’m not so sure - Vuković said in the post.
